HP laserjet Mnf scanner not working: You could find out if you have hplip installed by and what version by running "dpkg -l grep hplip" in the terminal. HP is one of the printer manufacturers that has its own driver package laesrjet Linux, including M1522nr the driver package is maintained by the open source community, but has HP full support. I see that in the hplip source code the mnf has scan-type set to -1 to just completely disable it I also usually install hplip-cups I find that running the hp device manager as root is the best way to install the thing.

The text at the top of the table that says laserjjet scanning is currently not supported is correct. This is free software, and you are welcome to distribute it under certain conditions.
